Get ready for Daniel Heedman & Åsa Palm in Toronto on January 15-17, 2010!! Expect two days of incredible workshops and two nights of swingin’ dances.
If you know who Daniel & Åsa are then you know how special an event this will be. If you don’t know who they are then be prepared for an awesome weekend workshop!
Daniel Heedman and Åsa Palm are two world class dancers, instructors and performers. Hailing from Sweden, they rarely teach in North America and have never taught in Toronto together; this trip they will only be stopping in Vancouver and Toronto.
For years they were part of the legendary Harlem Hot Shots (formerly the Rhythm Hot Shots) where they taught and performed across Europe, North America and Asia. They are regular teachers at Herräng International Dance Camp. In 2006 they won the Battle at Jazz Jam in Stockholm beating other world-renowned couples such as Vincenzo Fesi & Isabella Gregoria, Frida Segerdahl & Sakarias Larsson and Hannah Zetterman & Mattias Lundmark.
Daniel and Åsa are said to have super lindy hop powers. Daniel’s swingouts are known to make grown men cry for joy. Åsa’s swivels are stuff of legends and can knock you out cold. Apart they are incredible, together they are better than chocolate.
Their classes are the perfect balance between information for the leads and information for the follows, technique and creativity, instruction and dancing, humour and feedback, basics and invention. In January they will be teaching their special Lindy hop goodness with some Blues, Solo Jazz and Charleston on the side. This is going to be an incredible weekend!
All classes will be suited to solid intermediate dancers yearning for more to advanced dancers who are looking for a challenge.
